Business Rule

A unique ID is fundamental for tracking asset performance, maintenance history, and financial depreciation. Prevents duplicate records and ensures data can be aggregated accurately.

Technical Implementation
Identifiers should be issued by a central Master Data Management (MDM) system. Field should be a primary key in asset tables and validated for uniqueness upon creation.
